People assigned to eat a diet of 1200-1500 calories per day that included two meal replacements and two snack replacements, as well as one meal high in fruits and vegetables lost an average of 15.6 lbs in three months compared to 2.9 pounds for those prescribed a diet of 1200-1500 calories per day according to a study done by researchers at the University of Ulm in Ulm, Germany.
