A diet with a high glycemic load increases the risk of coronrary heart disease in women according to a new study from the Harvard School of Public Health. The one-tenth of women consuming the highest glycemic load were 90 percent more likely to get coronary heart disease over during the 20-year follow-up than the one-tenth of women consuming the lowest glycemic load.
