Very-low calorie diet: 33 lbs loss in one year

“Very-low-calorie diets with regular monitoring and feedback [are] effective in reducing and maintaining weight loss for up to a year,” concluded the author of a study from Britain.
Twenty-six obese patients in general practice lost an average of 33 pounds after one year. No serious side effects were reported.
