Alcohol increases calorie intake

Drinking alcohol increases calorie intake according to one study.
Forty men and women consumed a drink containing 240 calories of alcohol, protein, carbohydrate or a milkshake and then ate as much as they wanted 30 minutes later.
People ate more after consuming alcohol (836 calories) than those consuming fat, protein, carbohydrate (an average of 645 calories) or those consuming the milkshake (597 calories).
Those who drank the alcohol also ate faster.
Thus it would seem that drinkers should weigh more than non-drinkers but another study found this was not true. (See Drinkers are leaner than non-drinkers.)
