Belly fat increases the risk of stroke

ABDOMINAL OBESITY, but not elevated body mass index, predicts risk of stroke in men concludes a study from Harvard.
The risk of stroke was twice as great in men with a waist-to-hip ratio of 1 or greater compared to those who’s ratio was 0.89 or less.
These results were obtained from 28,643 U.S. male health professionals aged 40-75 years who were followed for five years.
